Good news! We’ve completed testing on our Flex Hose and Extra Rigid Capture Hose materials. We do recommend Annihilator Alcohol Surface Cleaner for disinfecting these hoses, and have for some time. But for the past month we’ve had them soaking in CaviCide and Optim 33TB to test the effect of these particular cleaners on the plastic integrity.
Both hoses (including all adapters, nozzles, hose material, etc.) were unaffected. The materials maintained their structural integrity when we pulled them out.
What does this mean for our customers?
It means we can state with confidence that these intermediate level disinfectants are ideal for these particular Vaniman hoses. We therefore recommend their use for disinfecting as well as the Annihilator Cleaning Spray available here.
It also means we do NOT recommend hydrogen peroxide or other typical household cleaners, as we cannot confirm that they will not degrade the material.
